On Tuesday, November 30th, P. Diddy’s new teen discoveries B5, Hip Hop Legend D-Nice and several of Hip Hop’s hottest artists joined Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos and Norma Olarte Becker, Tinsley Mortimer, Valesca Guerrand-Hermes, Alexandra Lind Rose, Marisa Brown, Lauren Davis, Claire Bernard, Susan L. Burden and 30 teens in foster care at New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) “Wrap to Rap” hip hop holiday party. NYFC hosted an afternoon of wrapping donated presents for younger children in foster care. The teens who are members of ACS’s Peer Leadership Council (PLC) gave all wrapped toys to their “Little Angels” — younger children in foster care with whom they have developed peer mentoring relationships. PLC provides young people in foster care between the ages of 14 and 21 the opportunity to develop self-confidence, leadership skills and a supportive peer network.
The atmosphere of the afternoon’s festivities was set by hip-hop legend D-Nice spinning hip hop classics and new releases at Serafina Restaurant Downtown. Some of today’s hottest hip-hop artists also stopped by to wrap and rap with the teens including P. Diddy’s teen sensations B5. One lucky teen won a New Era 59Fifty cap designed by rapper Fabolous.
The PLC teenagers in attendance received holiday treats from Kenneth Cole, NARS, Banana Republic, Ghirardelli, NBA, Le Sportsac, Capitol Records, Philosophy, L’Oreal, Old Navy, Vibe Magazine, Pepperidge Farm, Anthony Logistics for Men, Biotherm, New Era Caps, Steiner Sports, OP Sunglasses, Newman’s Own, Crabtree & Evelyn, Juicy Couture and more!
