Our History

Founded in 1996 by Nicholas Scoppetta, the former Commissioner of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) works in partnership with ACS to improve the lives of youth in foster care and to engage New Yorkers in that effort. NYFC’s organizational goal is to support efforts to improve the well-being of youth in foster care through education, career development, the acquisition of life skills, and strengthening the child welfare system.
