Great.com Podcast Interviews NYFC Executive Director Saroya Friedman-Gonzalez

Karim Bukhadurov from Great.com interviewed New Yorkers for Children as part of their ‘Great.com Talks With…’ podcast. This series is an antidote to negative news stories that aims to shed light on organizations and experts whose work is making a positive impact on the world.

Filling In The Gaps

In many countries government support and fund for the care of youth in foster care and those that are in low-income families is rarely enough. A significant number of these individuals either drop out from school, or leave foster care with no direction or support. In this episode, we talked with Saroya Friedman-Gonzalez from New Yorkers for Children about filling in the cracks of funding and support for the youth in New York.

Supporting The Future

In 2020, many US government agencies, especially those in the education sector, reported that their schools are “chronically underfunded”. At the same time, US foster care programs also need all the help that they can get not only to care properly for children, but also to help them lead meaningful lives. Saroya Friedman-Gonzalez explains how some of these “gaps” in funding and attention exist. New Yorkers for Children exists to step in and assist an ailing system with much-needed funding and meaningful programs, designed to develop and empower the less-fortunate youth.

Listen to the whole interview to find out how you can help and be part of this long and noble undertaking of caring for children that are in need. You can also donate or be part of their innovative programs. Help make a meaningful change today that will be felt for generations to come.
