I joined NYFC in October 2020. As Master of Social Work (MSW) Intern for the 2020-2021 school year, I am responsible for working with youth who have applied for NYFC’s COVID Emergency Funding Program as well as assisting with the Peer Mentoring Program. Prior to NYFC, I completed a service year with AmeriCorps in 2017 and subsequently worked for a disability and racial equity focused nonprofit in Washington, D.C. In the future, I hope to make mental health education and resources more accessible to all. I received my BA in Urban Studies and Communication from the University of Pittsburgh. I am currently pursuing my MSW from Columbia University.
I joined NYFC in February 2021. As the Finance & Administrative Associate, I am responsible for supporting financial and administrative functions for the organization. I have over ten years of practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, collection, billing, and administrative support across multiple fields including education, media, marketing and advertising. I earned my BS in Business Management from St. John’s University.
I joined NYFC in 2021 as an AmeriCorps VISTA member. In my role as VISTA, I support the Development Department by identifying new sources of funding, preparing grant proposals, tracking donor information, and creating social media and marketing materials. Before starting my year of service at NYFC, I worked in journalism, publishing, and education. I graduated from Carleton College with a BA in English in 2019.
I joined NYFC in February 2020. As Director of Programs, I’m responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of NYFC Signature Programs and leads program planning and implementation for pilot initiatives. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 14 years in the field of higher education and youth development. This included a position as Director of Edgies Teen Center and College Prep Program at Educational Alliance, and as the Youth Academic Advisor here at NYFC and at SUNY Buffalo State. I received my BSc in Social Work and my MSc in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from SUNY Buffalo State.
I joined NYFC in May 2014. As Administrative Associate, I am responsible for all administrative and operational tasks required in our office, assisting all departments. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 10 years in higher education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Michigan, specializing in Fiber Arts. I am also a professional studio artist working in mixed-media textiles.
I joined NYFC in September 2018. As Manager of Development & Communications, I’m responsible for identifying and securing funding and partnership opportunities; as well as all marketing, social media, and other external communications. I also manage NYFC’s AmeriCorps Program. Before joining NYFC, I spent several years in nonprofit development and communications, and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Oakland, CA. I received my BA in English Language and Composition from the University of Maryland, College Park.
I joined NYFC in October 2018. As Youth Academic Advisor, I’m responsible for providing direct support to the recipients of NYFC’s signature programs. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 13 years with New York City youth and young adults from at-risk communities, including as Life Coach Program Director at Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School. I received my BA in Psychology and my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
I joined NYFC in September 2016. As Senior Director of Finance and Administration, I’m responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 15 years in the fiscal management space, including as VP of Budgets and Grants of the National Urban League. I received my MBA from Long Island University and my BA from Bernard Baruch College.
I joined NYFC in January 2021. As the TechLink Associate, I serve as the key point person, mentor, and community leader for youth in foster care participating in the TechLink program. Prior to NYFC, I worked in the technology sector, in addition to being a motivational speaker, advocate, and consultant for various non-profit organizations such as the Children’s Village, Philanthropy New York, Vera Institute, HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services, and the Redlich Horwitz Foundation. I received my BA in International Relations from New York University.
