What is the YAB?
The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a peer leadership program for youth aged 15-26 who are currently in or have aged out of NYC foster care. YAB empowers participants to build a supportive community, challenge stigma, advocate for change, and raise awareness about important foster youth issues.
Meet your YAB Officers
Christiana Anokye
Hello, my name is Christiana, and I am a passionate youth advocate who cares deeply about uplifting young people and making sure their voices are heard. I bring lived experience, empathy, and honesty to my role on the Youth Advisory Board, and I am committed to helping create positive and meaningful change for children and families across New York City.
Eyhdi Osorio
I’m Eyhdi Osorio, Vice President of the Youth Advisory Board and a graduate student in Forensic Mental Health Counseling. I’m passionate about uplifting youth voices, building community, and creating spaces where young people feel heard and supported. My goal is to help ensure youth perspectives are meaningfully included in decision-making and advocacy efforts.
Chazmin Roberts
My name is Chazmin, but you can call me Cece. I’m the treasurer & I love photography. I’m going back to school in the spring for my associates & then my bachelors in early childhood education with a focus on kids from birth-2nd grade. I can’t wait to meet you all throughout this year & thank you for being apart of YAB with us.
Tiffany Martinez
Hello everyone, my name is Tiffany Martinez and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Social Media Manager for the Youth Advisory Board! I am currently a psychology major at University Of Hawaii at Manoa, with plans to pursue my master’s or PhD with the goal of becoming a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I’m deeply passionate about psychology and Social Work, and just supporting my community overall because biggest passion and what I believe my purpose in this life is to help those in need and give back, especially those in the foster care system as an aged out foster youth! Social media is one of my biggest hobbies and so I am incredibly grateful to be a part of the board and share the heart of this agency and hope to be able to bring as much value to the team as possible!
Trevor Rouse
Hello! My name is Trevor, I'm the secretary for YAB and I'm also a biology major with the intention of eventually applying to medical school in order to become a physician. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in this upcoming year!
